Your questions about reverse osmosis water filtration

Chris asks…

If you have a reverse osmosis water filtration system, can you answer this question?

We just got a reverse osmosis water filtration system. Everytime we get a glass of water, it gurgles for about 30 min after wards. Is this normal?

Kat answers:

Yes. Reverse Osmosis works by using water pressure to force water through a semi permeable membrane as it does this the particles that are to large to go through go into the waste water and down the drain. Your system is refilling the reservoir after you empty some out.

Thomas asks…

What company makes the best reverse osmosis water filtration unit for the home? I want to remove FLUORIDE.?

Not sure if I should get an atmospheric water generator, or a unit that plugs into the home “tap” supply of poisoned water to filter it. Looking for answers from pros, and or people with existing units.

Kat answers:

I try to find the best place for you to buy the best reverse osmosis water filtration unit.
The prices are good and FREE Shipping.

Hope this help. Good Luck!

Laura asks…

What is the best reverse osmosis water filtration system on the market?

Kat answers:

Multi-Pure offers one of the best R/O systems on the market. They  are NSF Certified, and reasonably priced. Visit the Purchase Multi-Pure link right here on my blog for more information, or to make your purchase!

Joseph asks…

is there a really good reverse osmosis water filtration system for under-the-sink, yet affordable?

Kat answers:

The Multi-Pure MP750PlusRO Unit is easy to install and simple to operate. It uses no electricity and the impurities removed through the reverse osmosis process are flushed down the drain. The pre-filter component provides 5 micron filtration to remove large particulate matter and extend the life of the reverse osmosis membrane. The reverse osmosis component reduces the level of Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), rust, dirt scale, and organic tastes and odors. The processed water is conveniently stored in a 3 gallon pressurized tank which is small enough to fit neatly under your sink. Multi-Pure’s MP750PlusRO Unit includes pre-filter, RO membrane, and Multi-Pure’s Model MP750SB as a post-filter, giving you the highest quality water possible.

Michael asks…

Does Reverse Osmosis Water filtration clean out chlorine?

I have read somewhere that RO doesn’t filter out chlorine that well. Is that true? Does a carbon filter cleans out chlorine well?

Kat answers:

Reverse osmosis, also known as hyperfiltration, is a process similar to membrane filtration that when used on water eliminates the presence of most heavy metals and contaminants. However, there are key differences between filtration and reverse osmosis. During the filtration process, the water is strained through a membrane which allows the filter to catch some but not all unwanted particles in the water. When osmosis is applied, it incorporates diffusion, the process of moving molecules from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration. In the process of osmosis the molecules are water, and pressure forces the water across a semi-permeable membrane which allows the passage of water, but not ions (for example: Na+, Cl-) or larger molecules like glucose, urea, or bacteria. With reverse osmosis rather than moving molecules from a region of higher to lower concentration, molecules are moved from a lower to higher concentration. At the end of the process the solute, (unwanted contaminants) remain on one side, and the pure solvent (clean water) passes to the other side.

Benefits of Reverse Osmosis

•Can reduce levels of common parasites such as giardia and cryptosporidium, fluoride, arsenic, asbestos, atrazine, benzene, chlorides, silver, sulfide, cysts, hexavalent chromium, trivalent chromium, copper, cadmium, radium, radon, selenium and more.
•Uses no electricity
•Can provide clean, sparkling, fresh water in your home
•Brewed drinks that use water such as coffee, tea, or soups may have richer flavor
•Low mineral content of the water can keep household appliances like steam irons and humidifiers working longer and more efficiently
•Save a large amount of money yearly, by cutting spending on bottled water

Multi-Pure’s MP750 Plus RO combines Multi-Pure’s renowned carbon block filter technology with the reverse osmosis technology, making it the most technologically advanced System in the world today. The Multi-Pure MP750 Plus RO is the ONLY device certified under NSF/ANSI Standards 42, 53, and 58 to reduce: Fluoride, Nitrates/Nitrate, Arsenic V, Chloramine, PCBs, Toxaphene, Chlordane, Lead, Mercury, and many other contaminants.
